REEF Technology
REEF Technology is on a mission to connect the world to your block. We’re doing this by transforming urban spaces into neighborhood hubs that connect people to goods, services and experiences.
At REEF I’m able to work on a variety of exciting projects. I’m the lead designer on the Pricing Engine of our enterprise app. I’m also the lead designer for a soon to launch last-yard delivery app.
Everything is confidential, but something I can share with you are some visual assets I worked on for a proposal that we won. It’s a partnership with Raleigh–Durham International Airport (RDU), read more below.
We’ve all been in this situation. You’re at the airport juggling a couple bags, your phone (boarding pass) in hand, it’s an early flight so you left home without breakfast, and coffee is. a. must. Don’t worry, REEF is here for you.
The team’s proposal was that REEF and our partner restaurant brands, will take over a kitchen at RDU and make it possible for you to order from an app and get your food either delivered to your gate, or you can pick up from a food locker.
Below you’ll see visual assets I created that will take you on the user journey through discovery, ordering, tracking, and delivery.
RDU Proposal
Discovery
What are the mediums that people traveling through RDU will encounter to discover that they can get food delivered to their gate?
REEF Mobile parking app: Park at RDU using the app and you’ll be prompted to order food from REEF.
Airline integration: We hope to eventually integrate with airline apps so you can even order while on the plane and have your coffee and bagel waiting for you gate-side when you land.
Airport signage: Scan the code and start ordering.
Ordering
The delightful experience of ordering food and drinks. Here we highlight multi-brand ordering, because not everyone in your family/traveling crew will agree on what they’re in the mood for.
Tracking
Knowing when your food is on the way is always important, it will be especially important in this time sensitive situation.
Delivery
Being handed your order while you are able to chill at your gate. These final images bring to life the idea of convenience we look forward to bringing to you.
While I led efforts in these final mockups, I have to give a shout out to other designers on the team who are always willing to collaborate and make sure we meet deadlines.

Did I mention Reefy? We hope that eventually Reefy the robot will help out in delivering your food to your gate.
